Ex-Maria Actor Pleads For Help After Being Arrested By Police

Actor Khula Budi, who played Trevor in the drama series Maria on Citizen TV, is said to have been detained at the Karen Police Station after getting into a fight with a Nigerian national.

The actor alleged on Thursday, February 16, that the police denied him bail and held him at the station against his will.

In addition, he claimed that the foreigner assaulted him in front of his wife, daughter, and relatives at his home.

The Nigerian was also charged with paying the police to keep him at the station even though he was the aggressor.

Budi pleaded on Kenyans to step in and assist him in obtaining his freedom.

“I am urging everyone to please share this story. And to make as many phone calls to the OCS at Karen Police Station,” he shared.

Allegedly, the actor also acquired P3 forms of the assault but accused the police of tampering with the documents, replacing them with blank papers.

“I have been assaulted in my own country by a Nigerian national who came to my house, with no protection from the police or Kenyan government,” he lamented while tagging the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA).

The actor also attached documents from the police station, including the P3 form, and OB number.

According to the P3 form, the actor sustained injuries on his head, neck, abdomen, and lower and upper abdomen.

Furthermore, the form categorised the degree of the injuries as ‘harm’, meaning any bodily hurt, whether permanent or temporary.

Dated February 11, the form also claimed that the victim was assaulted by a person well known to him, urging the medical officer to ascertain the level or degree of the injuries.
