“I am actually 58” – Esther Passaris forced to clarify her age
President William Ruto was accompanied by a group of leaders, including Nairobi women MP Esther Passaris, to tour the ongoing Mkuru Kwa Njenga affordable housing project.
Passaris supported the proposal on social media, claiming it will benefit many families in Nairobi.
In order to help Kenyans transition from informal settlements to social housing, the ODM legislator promised to mobilize her parliamentary colleagues to give the Housing Fund top priority.
“Rent purchase schemes offer many residents a chance to be homeowners, with rates as low as KSh 3,000 per month. We desperately need this model replicated across the country,” said Passaris.

Her tweet was accompanied by her photos during the event.
One curious Kenyan was not pleased with one of her photos, which according to him was too inappropriate for her age.
He tweeted saying:
“Consider wearing a longer dress next time, you are 55 now, not 25.”
The loud Passaris responded saying:
“Actually I am 58 this month #MyDressMyChoice.”
In other news, Kenyans praised Passaris for attending the event despite supporting the opposing political camp.
They also criticized the governor of Homa Bay, Gladys Wanga, and the member of parliament for Homa Bay Town, Peter Kaluma, for missing Ruto’s event when he visited their county, claiming they could learn from Passaris.
Ruto went to a prayer meeting at the AIC in Homa Bay town on Sunday, October 2, but Wanga didn’t show up, citing the fact that she was “on official duties” outside of the county.
Kaluma, however, said he lacked the resources necessary to attend the function.
