Trudy, a well-known travel YouTuber on Sunday expressed her disbelief at learning that Uganda, a landlocked nation, has a national park with a variety of species and offers game drives on her Twitter page.

Ugandans were not pleased with this action.

“Uganda has surprised me today! I did not know they also have a game drive in Uganda! I thought that these are only in Kenya & Tanzania. We spent the evening watching Antelopes, Giraffes, zebras, warthogs, waterbucks, and Hippos. Who would have thought? #Pearl of Africa #Uganda #Africa,” Trudy’s tweet read.

Ugandan internet users reacted angrily to her tweet, wondering what kind of travel vlogger she was if she couldn’t do any study on the nations she was visiting before posting about it online.

It became unpleasant as internet users included Trudy’s body in the trolling and brought up every element of her life.

Knowing KOT, they had to defend their own, and in a matter of seconds, a conflict between Kenya and Uganda broke out.

In an effort to put an end to the uproar, Trudy has now reacted to the online abuse she has been getting, making it clear that she had no malicious intentions and had instead been working to promote the nation’s underdeveloped tourism industry.

She continued by saying that she believed the animosity was unjustified and excessively harsh toward black people.

“Ugandans, stop hating on me! You guys are being too sensitive for the wrong reasons. I am your friend. Not your enemy! Ugandans, Let’s make love. Not war!” The first part of Miss Trudy’s reply read.

She went on to upload a video in which she appeared distressed and angry at how Ugandans insulted her, wondering what exactly she had said wrong when she had intended to promote Ugandan tourism.

“If I was a white lady and still said the same thing, I would have been told ‘Oh, welcome to Uganda, we can show you all the places’ Is it because I am black like you? Are we showing people hate because they are black like us? Am I an angel?” An angry Trudy remarked.

The YouTuber finished off by adding, “Should I know everywhere on this continent? This has just been extremely disappointing. I am being roasted and being made a laughing stock and it is just really painful. This is not the way Ugandans are supposed to welcome you.”

Here are some of the comments from Ugandans on Twitter:

@InfluencerUg1: You already have a game drive on your forehead, why are you looking for one

@wilfredsenyange: Am so ashamed that an African Travel Vlogger is surprised at what the pearl of Africa has to offer. A real vlogger reads about the region. Even the smallest country offers game drives. Actually this is a mockery and disrespectful. You should delete the tweet

@wekesa_amos: With all due respect she is being dis-respectful with her choice of words, and as Ugandans thats where we draw the line, she can go back to wherever she came from and return when she has manners,

@ssebo256:I’m interested in knowing if you study geography in Kenya. how come I know the largest National Park in East Africa “Serengeti” I know all the Nps in Turkana Region of Kenya, I know Kenya Highlands
@Tamale4Brian: But I thought prior to someone touring a given nation has to first make some background checks,, travel company one has to use may show you some of these things in the package you’re paying for
