NTV’s Kennedy Muriithi announces exit from station after 10 years

Kennedy Muriithi, a well-known political reporter, has announced his departure from NTV.

The journalist stated in an emotional Facebook post that he was quitting the media station after ten years of service.

“It has been a wonderful 10 years, with an 8 month break in 2017/2018, working for the media of Africa, for Africa. Today, I leave the Twin Towers, regrettably, but with hope that I’ll be landing on green pastures. To my colleagues at the NTV, thank you for being a great support team.

At Nation Media Group, I have grown into the fine journalist I am today. Tonight, Saturday 31st December 2022, I take a break from the newsroom, and embark on a new journey. The photo attached is from 2019 when NTV put a full page in honor of my bold reporting. NTV remains home,” he wrote

Political job

The Nation Media Group journalist Kennedy Murithi Budi exited the station after landing a top post in the Tharaka Nithi County Government.

A few weeks ago, Governor Muthomi Njuki appointed the senior political reporter from NTV to the position of political advisor as he serves his second term.

“I have worked with Governor Njuki closely since 2013. I am happy that he has considered me as one of his advisors,” Mr Murithi said on hearing news of his appointment.

The county boss has also nominated former Tharaka Nithi County Assembly Speaker David John Mbaya as the county attorney and named Mr Gideon Gitonga Thuranira as his economic advisor.

Mr Njuki has also nominated 16 chief officers and forwarded the names to the County Assembly for consideration and approval, among them Mr Wilberforce Muriungi who was his economic advisor but who is now in charge of Youth and Sports.
