CJ Martha Koome Pays School Fees For Form 1 Student, Pledges To Educate Her To University

Lucy Njoki, a candidate who won the Kiambaa constituency in the 2021 KCPE Exam, has been granted school fees by Chief Justice Martha Koome.

The CJ, who paid a visit to Njoki at Loreto High School in Limuru, said she would pay her fees all the way to university.

“Emotional moment as I finally got to fulfil Lucy Njoki’s wish of meeting me. Njoki, who was the top performer in Kiambaa, has joined Loreto High School Limuru, and I’ve offered to pay her fees up to university level,” Koome wrote.

Chief Justice Martha Koome stated on Sunday, May 22 that she will pay a school visit to Lucy Njagwi Njoki, a top Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) 2021 student.

The President of the Supreme Court of Kenya said in a statement that she would pay a surprise visit to Loreto High School Limuru to meet Njoki, the Kiambaa constituency’s top performer.

The student revealed that Lady Justice Martha Koome was her role model and that she aspired to meet her.

“Visiting Loreto High School Limuru this afternoon to make Njoki’s wish come true. See you there,” Koome committed.

Njoki took her KCPE exam at Kiambu Hillcrest School in March 2022 and received a 404. She also came out on top in Kiambu County’s Mathematics competition, revealing that she wants to be a lawyer.

“In my future career, my role model is Chief Justice Koome. She has worked hard and risen to become the President of the Judiciary. That is something I admire,” the teenager told Kiambu Magazine.

A number of Kenyans praised the CJ for her humility in making the statement. Some people proposed that she sponsor the pupil all the way through high school.

“You are truly who you are Madam and you will never change. I knew it wasn’t in vain to have you as CJ. Thank you for your noble heart! You are indeed a role model! Blessings!” Chege wrote.

“This is so kind of you Chief Justice. I met you with my friends when you were sitting in the Court of Appeal at Nakuru. What you and Justice Visram told us has kept us this far. We will be coming soon to testify. God bless you,” Elizabeth Jepleting wrote.
