Peter Salasya Finally Meets Lady Who Begged To Be His Wife: “I will support her to fulfill her dreams”

Peter Salasya, a member of parliament from Mumias, has met the woman whose public proposal to the politician went viral on social media.

In the undated video that went viral online last week, Lydia Ronad is seen walking down Tom Mboya Street with a handwritten sign declaring her love for the lawmaker and pleading with the MP to propose to her.

Salasya responded to the woman’s tweet with an offer to meet for lunch after initially rejecting her advances.

“I told Kenyans that I would invite her for lunch and in fact we have just had lunch with her. She is a very brave girl,” said Salasya in a video that captured the pair dining at Parliament’s canteen.

In addition, Salasya pledged to help the woman in her endeavors and that he thought she would pursue a career in politics in the future.

“Vaida finally came for lunch in the Parliament building as I had promised Kenyans. Lydia will be the next woman rep of Kisii County or the replacement of my friend and South Mugirango MP Silvanus Osoro. Her courage and charisma will take her places,” he said.

“I will support her to fulfill her dreams in her life.”

However, other Kenyans on Twitter criticized the legislator, pointing out that the woman had made it quite clear that she was not looking for a political mentor and that all she wanted was for the MP to marry her.
