“I am richer than Akothee & Harmonize” – Jaguar brags after helping Mustafa
Charles Njagua Kanyi, popularly known as Jaguar, has become a household name for decades now, even before joining politics.
Recently, Jaguar questioned by SPM Buzz, he wanted to address his flamboyant lifestyle that he had been balling and eating well with city girls.
Jaguar is one of the wealthiest celebrities in Kenya, and it’s true that his income comes from a variety of businesses, including record labels and garages.
What’s truly intriguing is that he indicated he would stop composing music and go to a tranquil life as a public worker if Akothee or Harmonize were wealthier than him.

So, how well do you know Jaguar?
Born in a family of three, Jaguar was orphaned when he was only eleven years old. The artist had to fend for himself by doing menial jobs to put food in his mouth.
He worked as a tout in the chaotic public service vehicles popularly known as matatus and that’s how he was able to raise money to pay his school fees.
In 2004, the artist released his debut single “Utaweza Kweli” under the now defunct Mandugu Digitali record label.
A year later, Jaguar changed studios and released a string of singles among them “Kigeugeu”. After having a successful stint at Ogopa Deejays, the singer joined Main Switch Studios.

At one time touted as the richest artist in Kenya before Akothee came into the picture, Jaguar is truly living the life of the rich and famous. He owns multi-million houses in Nairobi and his rural home.

The artist owns a Bentley,Range Rover sports, Mercedes Benz E240, BMW 5 Series, Toyota Lexus, Jaguar and Toyota Mark X.
Even before he joined politics, Jaguar made good money. It is doubtful if he amassed his vast wealth through his music.
It is doubtful if Jaguar amassed his wealth through music given that gigs-which are hard to come-pay at most kes300,000. Music doesn’t pay much.
His pay as an MP was Sh710,000 ($7,100) excluding allowances.
