UDA Nominations Results: List of winners, losers So far (LIVE UPDATES)

On Thursday, the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party, which is led by Deputy President William Ruto, held nominations in 36 counties.

In 13 counties, UDA hosted gubernatorial nominations, 18 counties held senatorial nominations, and 28 counties held Woman Representative competitions.

Nominations for parliamentary positions were set to take place in 138 constituencies, while MCA nominations were set to take place in 834 wards.

However, due to instability and logistical issues, some primaries were postponed.

As they come in, here are some of the results:

Bomet Woman Representative seat: 24-year-old Linet ‘Toto’ Chepkorir wins UDA nomination ticket.

Kuresoi North Constituency: MP Moses Cheboi loses nominations to Alfred Mutai, a former charcoal dealer and current Sirikiwa ward MCA. Mutai got 17,247 votes against Cheboi’s 12,454 votes.

Naivasha Constituency: MP Jayne Kihara loses UDA nominations after garnering 9,991 votes against John Kihagi who got 10,394 votes.

Kapseret Constituency: Oscar Sudi wins UDA nomination ticket after garnering 14,531 against Pauline Tuwei’s 4,144 votes. Jonathan Tuwei came third with 2,066 votes, while David Koros came fourth with 1,098 votes.

Chesumei Constituency: Chesumei MP Wilson Kogo loses UDA nomination to Paul “Polo” Pyego. Polo garnered 21,370 votes against Kogo’s 12,980 votes.
Baringo Central Constituency: MP Joshua Kandie declared the winner in the UDA parliamentary nominations in Baringo Central. He garnered 9,505 followed by David Kerich (6,834) and Sammy Mwaita (2,115).
Keiyo South Constituency: MP Daniel Rono has lost his bid to recapture his seat on a UDA ticket after losing in the party nominations against Gideon Kimaiyo. Kimaiyo garnered 16,204 votes against Rono who got 6,213 votes.
