This mother, who supported herself by doing laundry for others, beamed with pride as her son Francis Erodi joined the ranks of the military.
Her journey, filled with hardships and endless days of hard work, has resulted in a story with a beautiful conclusion.
Alfred Koech, who shared the photographs, commended Mama Erodi for her incredible resilience and unwavering determination in providing her son with the opportunity to succeed.
“Her unwavering commitment to your future is truly admirable. It is wonderful to see that you have risen to the challenge and made her proud,” he wrote.
As her son stood tall in his military regalia, the mother’s face beamed with joy, erasing all the painful memories she endured.
Erodi’s neighbour Kelvine Lagat, told Tuko that the young soldier ails from a family of seven siblings and was a renowned sportsman while at Mogonga Secondary School in Kisii.
“He deserves that job. His talent allowed him to complete high school without paying school fees, so his mother supported him in terms of transport back to school,” he stated.
Erodi, a Kenya Army Volleyball Champion, joined the military after high school and graduated as a full soldier, highlighting the untold heroes who nurture the nation’s defenders.
