Kenyan sprinter Ferdinand Omanyala easily advanced into the men’s 100m semifinals after winning his heat in a time of 10.07 seconds at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, United Kingdom, on Wednesday.

Omanyala’s quick time was the quickest in the preliminary rounds, as South African Akani Simbine, the defending champion, also advanced after winning his Heat in 10.10 seconds.

Samuel Imeta also advanced to the semi-finals at the same time with a valiant performance, placing second in his heat in a tremendous new Personal Best time of 10.12 seconds.
