Kamene officially joined NRG Radio on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, to host “NRG Transit” with Shaffie Weru and DJ Pierra Makena, according to a banner she put up.

“Good Morning My Loves!!!!!!! @shaffieweru @pierramakenaofficial do you think they are ready for this one? @nrgradiokenya,” Kamene Goro shared.

The show will air from 3:00pm to 7:oopm on Friday.

Kamene worked for NRG Radio years ago before joining Kiss Fm where she hosted The Morning Kiss with Andrew Kibe.

Kamene exited the Radio Africa-owned station on Friday, January 27, after a three-and-half-year stint at the station.

She denied reports circulating on social media that she was fired from her radio job at Kiss FM.

Reacting to the claims that she had been relieved of her duties over absenteeism, the sassy radio presenter said she parted ways with her employer because her contract had expired and “there was no need to renew it”.

“No, I was not fired. My contract was up by the end of this month (January) and there was no need to move forward with it… No beef with anyone,” Kamene Goro said in an interview shortly after her last breakfast show.

Kamene also rubbished reports that she has been reporting to work drunk saying, “Last year, I was sick and had to miss work, but you can’t plan sickness, it just happens. And, let’s be real, I never come to work intoxicated or under the influence of (alcohol), that’s impossible. You can’t run the desk while drunk.”

She hinted at trying self-employment, revealing that the exit of her former co-host Felix Odiwuor alias Jalang’o made her rethink her media career.

“Jalang’o leaving made m think about self-employment and taking a leap of faith to see what I can do on my own. I’m excited, employment can make you comfortable sometimes,” she said adding that early morning wake-up calls for the morning show were challenging.

There were speculations that Kamene had fallen out with her bosses for allegedly absconding duty on flimsy grounds as well as low ratings.

Kamene was replaced by former Vybez Radio presenter Sheila Kwamboka a.k.a Kwambox.
