Peter Mbugua: Meet The Billionaire Behind Quiver Nightclub Empire

In recent years, Quiver Lounge has expanded to become one of Nairobi’s and Kenya’s biggest nightclub chains.

Its first location on Thika Road was extremely well-liked by partygoers in the Nairobi metropolitan area, and this helped to open other locations for the business.

Today, there are Quiver Lounge branches in Kilimani, Kenol, Kitengela and Thika Road – giving it a presence in multiple counties.

The lounges all feature spacious, modern design and offer a high-end party experience. Besides leisure seekers in search of a good time, Quiver lounges are also popular with celebrities and other prominent figures.

Among celebrities who have been spotted at Quiver lounges are American rapper Fabolous, who stopped by the Kilimani branch during a visit to Kenya in 2023.

During campaigns ahead of the 2022 General Elections, President William Ruto also visited the Thika Road branch, one of the city’s top party locations.

The Quiver chain is owned by multi-millionaire businessman Peter Mbugua. In what is a rare occurrence, he stepped into the public limelight in November last year, soon after the opening of the latest Quiver branch in Kenol.

A video had gone viral of priests seemingly blessing the nightclub. As it later emerged, the men of God were praying for the mall which housed the new nightclub, and all the businesses within it.

“As you’ve already been told, the mall in which Quiver Lounge sits, was being dedicated to God as any business person would as he embarks on a new business challenge.

While Quiver Lounge is a nightspot, it also enjoyed the blessings from the priests since it’s also part of the many businesses the Murang’a mall hosts,” Mbugua noted.

He further disclosed that a chunk of Quiver’s profits were consistently channelled to the church.

“This is a business like any other. There are a lot of risks in nightclubs – people can be stabbed to death with bottles, there are knives involved, fires in the kitchens, and stampedes too.

We always ask God to protect us from hazards and we also channel a lot of our profits to the Church. I don’t see any controversy in asking men of God to bless a new nightclub,” he explained.
