Gakuo was the recently terminated Nairobi Metropolitan Services’s Chief of Public Relations (NMS).

Gakuo withdrew when the NMS’s term ended before making a public appearance once more on Sunday, February 5, during a worship session at Jesus Winning Ministries in Nairobi.

She took to the podium shortly after the sermon to welcome Roysambu Member of Parliament Agustine Kamande Mwafrika to lead a session of speeches from elected leaders.

She also took to the podium after the Deputy President had addressed the congregation in order to return the program to the church’s pastor in the fashion of a protocol controller.

A source within the Deputy President’s office revealed to Kenyans.co.ke that the former K24 prime-time news anchor was working with the DP’s office.

“Gakuo now works with Gachagua’s office. However, I am not sure of the role,” the source revealed.

Gakuo’s star in politics started at Laikipia University where she rose to become the first female president of a students’ organisation in Kenya.

After her stint at The Presenter, she secured a job with the national broadcaster, KBC, before Mediamax came knocking in 2019.

However, she did not stay at the Longonot Place-based media house for long. In 2020, just four months after her 29th birthday, she was picked to head the Public Relations department at NMS.
