Joyce Aoko: Kenyan woman who was brutally attacked in Albania dies in Nairobi

Joyce Aoko, 22, who was in critical health when the Kenyan government rescued her from Albania, has passed away.

On January 25, Aoko was flown back to Kenya for more medical care at KUTRRH.

On January 30, Mama Joy chatted with content producer Lynn Ngugui about the terrible incidents.

Now that Joyce has passed away, Lynn Ngugi has announced it. Following abuse, Joyce had been checked into the trauma center in Tirana.

Over the previous three months, she had been receiving treatment.

On August 13, 2022, Aoko was discovered unconscious under the Tirana building where she resided.

She supposedly fell off the structure, according to early reports. Street protests were sparked by the ambiguous conditions.

Joy’s mother, Ruth Aoka, said that her daughter was being stalked for a long time by a casino driver. She added that Joy felt her life was at risk.

According to reports from activists in Labania, Joy is believed to have been attacked on August 13 shortly after returning from work.

Eyewitnesses told the police directorate in the capital that Joy Aoko was possibly attacked and raped by her colleague who was charged with the responsibility of dropping her off from work.

“She told me that a driver was following her and that he wanted to have a romantic relationship with her, but she didn’t want him,” she explained.

The driver after being named a key suspect spoke up about Joy.

“I have known Joyce Aoko for about 3 months at the Casino at the ‘Sheraton’ in Tirana. I had an intimate relationship with her.

“On August 8, 2022, around 2:00 pm, I went to the house where she lived on Elbasan street, near the Floërs residence. After spending a few hours with her, I decided not to continue this relationship,” the driver continued.
