“Don’t stone me!” – Miguna begs Raila supporters not to attack him once he lands in Kisumu

On Friday, October 28, attorney-politician Miguna Miguna requested a cordial welcome from the people of Kisumu.

Miguna claimed that after nearly five years of exile, he returned home to grieve for his deceased family members.

“Going home, especially for a person who has been forcefully exiled for 5 years, is not an act of war. It is an act of peace, and emotional and physical RESTORATION,” Miguna said.

He asked those intending to disrupt his much-needed homecoming to desist because he had no bad intentions. He just wanted to visit home.

“To ODM goons: Please don’t mobilize unemployed youth to stone me on Friday. I’m going to mourn my family members,” Miguna said.

Miguna, who recently returned to the country from exile, announced on Tuesday, October 25, that he will visit Kisumu this week.

In a statement on his official social media platforms, Miguna said he would make his trip to the lakeside city on Friday, October 28.

“I will arrive in Kisumu on Friday, October 28, 2022. Kenya is marwa!” he said.

Miguna arrived in Kenya on Mashujaa Day and was received by close family members and personal attorneys before attending the national celebrations at Uhuru Gardens presided over by President William Ruto.

He is expected to visit Kisumu, where he will interact with his family members and supporters who haven’t seen him in four years.

However, the news of his visit to the lakeside city has sparked mixed reactions from some residents, with the majority speaking out against it.
Hostile reception

Some have even threatened to send him away should he set foot in the county.

One local stated that because the county’s inhabitants, particularly the youth, are suffering difficult economic times due to high levels of unemployment and financial constraints, Miguna’s visit is a waste of time and no use.

Another resident observed that the region supports former Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party presidential candidate Raila Odinga, whom Miguna has criticised following his magical handshake with former president Uhuru Kenyatta.
