Tharaka Nithi MP loses daughter while preparing to bury his father

Patrick Munene, a member of parliament for the Tharaka Nithi Chuka Igambang’ombe seat, is mourning the unimaginable loss of two of his close relatives.

The politician’s father and little daughter passed away within a week, leaving him and his family in a very depressing state.

The daughter died on November 5, 2022, while Munene’s father passed away on November 1, 2022.

Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Catherine Riungu, managing editor of HortiNews, said that Munene’s infant daughter was poorly.

When she passed away, she was receiving treatment in India.

“I called Mheshimiwa. He cried, and we could not even talk. This tragedy is devastating to him. Kindly let us remember him and his family in our prayers.

Arrangements are being made to bring the deceased daughter back from India for burial. We shall keep you posted on the two burial arrangements,” the media practitioner shared a message from Kareke Mbiuki, Maara MP.

When the terrible news of Munene’s daughter arrived, the family was getting ready to bury Munene’s father, Joses Ntwiga, according to Riungu.

“It was a shock to the family. Tasha fell suddenly ill in July, in the heat of the campaigns, and doctors recommended urgent medical treatment in India,” Riungu stated.

Talking to Patrick’s brother Dennis, the sibling said the family was doing well despite the shake-up.

“We are laying the senior to rest on Friday. Little angel’s burial will be communicated sometimes this week,” he added.
