Mark was adopted by his foster mother, Mary Wright, a British Missionary who took him in to live her white family until 2001. Mark was 15 years old then and still in high school.

This is the time Mary Wright left the country to go back to the United Kingdom, to take care of her ailing mother, who later passed away three years after that.
