East Africa’s Got Talent winners Shines Agains at Canada’s Got Talent (VIDEO)

Do you remember the Ugandan siblings, Esther and Ezekiel Mutesasira, who broke the news after winning first-ever East Africa’s Got Talent in 2019?

Well, they are back now, but on Canada’s Got Talent, where they literally brought the house down with their electrifying performance.

Esther, currently 17 years old, and Ezekiel, 13 years old, performed ‘No Air’ Jordin Sparks and Chris Brown’s hit song. They slightly twisted the song by incorporating high notes and powerful melodies.

The audience, including the judges, could not help but give the siblings a standing ovation even before they finished singing.

All the judges voted “YES,” which translates that the siblings will be proceeding to the level of the competition.

Comedian Howie Mandel, a judge on the panel and also the siblings’ favorite celebrity, had this to say,

“From the moment you walked in here you seemed like the nicest, the most adorable, wonderful children and human beings. You really are. And then you blow the roof off this place!”

While the competition is seemingly tough, the siblings are in to win it.

Before singing, Ezekiel told the judges that their win will make their mother proud.

They revealed that their mother had to flee Uganda after disclosing that she was gay. The Ugandan culture is hostile to gays, and their mother had to run for her life to Canada, where she worked so hard for her children.

Now Esther and Ezekiel intend to use the reward to help their mother take some time off from work and relax.

Interestingly, the video of their performance has attracted over 100k views shortly after Canada’s Got Talent posted it on its YouTube channel.

Late last year, the siblings took their social media to disclose that they had not received their $50,000 reward. They accused the organizers of taking them in rounds whenever they asked for what was rightfully theirs.

It is not clear whether they finally received the money or not.

All we can do is wish them success as they represent East Africans.
