Meet 16-year-old Kenyan lady Alma Mutheu earning millions from TikTok

Kenyan content creator Alma Mutheru has opened up about earning big time from video creating app TikTok.

In an interview with Obinna on the Kulacooler show, Alma narrated how she found herself on Tiktok.

“I didn’t even know what TikTok was. That was in 2019. At the time it was called Musically. I don’t even know sometimes I say its God. Like when I was just starting I was seeing what people were doing then I decided I will also try to do my thing”

Alma has garnered over 15 million likes from her content since beginning.

‘I like acting, so I started doing acting content and pole pole tu lip-synch videos, and it was one video that blew up. It was a lip-synching video of Khaligraph Jones’ song ‘yes bana’.”

Khaligraph reposted that video and it went viral.

Is she dating?

“No” Alma declared adding “sina mtu at the moment” There are many who have expressed interest in her.

“Shida ni relationship sio mimi. I not seeing anybody at the moment.”

Alma’s parents are supportive of her online career

“My mum is very happy with me by the way ” However it wasn’t always this way. her mum was initially opposed to her online antics.

“My mum was like hii vitu unafanya you are being out there so much like this is too much.”

It got worse because Alma was being recognized by fans in public disrupting her life.

Her mum was concerned how being a celebrity might be affecting her education.

Mum did not like it all all.

“Until I told her just trust me, give me time. And then she did . Now she is very happy ”

Unfortunately Alma made the decision to leave school despite reassuring her mother she would not do it.

“I deferred. I am very happy with myself. It was hectic and stressful, . School shouldn’t be smooth lakini mi sijazoea vitu zinanipatia stress.”

What is her plan then? She wanted to focus on one thing, and then it was TikTok.

“I am going back in a few months ”

She will be done with school in three months time. Alma’s age is a point of contention with her online family, who bash her over the ‘I’m 16’ claims.

“I didn’t lie, I’m 16,” the TikToker insisted.

Celebrity crush? “I don’t think I have a Kenyan celebrity crush”

How much money has she made from tiktok? “So far over like two million, I’ve like withdrawn over a million from TikTok going live.”

Adding “People are buying cars and houses from TikTok, parents should stop refusing their kids from joining.”
