ANC Party reveals the position Musalia Mudavadi will hold in Ruto’s gov’t

Amani National Congress (ANC) party has nominated its party leader Musalia Mudavadi for the appointment as the Prime Cabinet Secretary in Kenya Kwanza government.

Here’s the statement by the party after holding the meeting:

“The Amani National Party has nominated its party leader @MusaliaMudavadi for the appointment as the Prime Cabinet Secretary.

In a special meeting by the party’s Council Bureau held Wednesday, the council unanimously nominated H.E
@MusaliaMudavadi for the position.

The new position to be created through an Executive Order was agreed upon by the founding party members of Kenya Kwanza in an agreement signed by President-elect @William Ruto of UDA, @Wetangulam of Ford Kenya and @MusaliaMudavadi on behalf of the @anc_party.

The meeting called by the party Secretary General was virtually held.”

The party leader Musalia had earlier hinted that he would be in charge of government affairs should Kenya Kwanza win the August 9 presidential election.

Speaking during a political campaign trail in Hamisi, Vihiga County, the ANC party leader said his Prime Cabinet Minister position in the Kenya Kwanza government will enable him to supervise ministries.

“I will be like the prime minister in the Kenya Kwanza government. I will be running government affairs. I am urging you to vote for Ruto and Kenya Kwanza,” he said.

At the same time, Ford Kenya is expected to nominate Moses Wetangula be the Speaker of the National Assembly.

Both ANC and Ford-Kenya will also get 30 percent of the government, including Cabinet slots, Principal Secretaries, High Commissioners, and other State jobs.

If the alliance forms government, the President shall within 14 days create the position of Prime Cabinet Secretary – the equivalent to Prime Minister – and whose roles have been defined in the agreement.
