ODM leader Raila Odinga has confidence that the Building Bridges Initiative will proceed.
During the burial of former MP, Jakoyo Midiwo, the former PM said he trust the battery of lawyers representing those supporting the BBI at the Court of Appeal.
“We are confident that through this competent team we are going to succeed. The BBI is going to move forward,” said Odinga.
The team of lawyers is led by Siaya Senator James Orengo.
A few weeks ago, five High Court Judges sitting in the case ‘David Ndii And Others vs The Attorney General and Others’ declared the entire BBI process unconstitutional.
The ODM leader’s words come a few days to the beginning of hearing of the appeal on Tuesday, June 29, 2021.
The Court of Appeal through its President Justice Daniel Musinga recently constituted a seven-judge bench to preside over the BBI Appeal case filed by among others President Uhuru Kenyatta, Raila Odinga, IEBC and the Attorney General.
The judges are; Justice Daniel Musinga who will chair the bench, Justice Patrick Kiage, Justice Francis Tuyoitt, Justice Fatuma Sichale, Justice Roselyne Nambuye, Justice Hannah Okwengu and Justice Gatembu Kairu.
