Zari Hassan has stated that she had a fantasy as a young girl of being a wealthy man’s bride, wearing satin gold, and leading an opulent life.
Zari said in a BBC Swahili interview that as she got older, she realized what kind of life she really wanted and realized she had to put in the necessary effort to achieve it.
Zari answered this when asked if she had ever imagined living such a life:
“I used to think I will get married to a rich man, wear gold, but I said it is not easy. When I realized I wanted a good life, I got the motivation to say I don’t really come from a rich family, but it was my responsibility.”
She added:
“I said I wanted a good life, and that has been my motivation in life to say I want a good life.”
