TikTok stars in Kenya: According to a Forbes story from 2020, TikTok stars get enormous sums of money from creating short videos on the app, which was introduced in 2018.

Byte Dance, the Chinese business that owns it, reported that as of 2020, there had been more than two billion downloads.

Addison Rae, a 21-year-old from the world of TikTok, earned $5 million in 2019. (KSh 555 million).

Almost 84.1 million people follow the young American woman who is also an actress on social media.

Together with her makeup company, Item Beauty, she has signed deals with Corporates Eagle and music streaming service Spotify.

Here’s a list of top TikTok creators in Kenya according to engagement with fans and consistency as per TikTok Kenya management.

1. Azziad Nasenya

The 21-year-old’s rise to stardom started on April 6, 2020, when a video of her dancing to the Utawezana hit by Mejja featuring Femi One went viral.

Since then, she became an instant celebrity, and even with trolls attacking her, the young lady didn’t look back.

A year later, the beauty has turned into an actress, content creator, and robust online influencer boasting over one million followers on both TikTok and Instagram.

Some of the brands she has partnered with are Bic, Cortex, and Phillips.

The beauty takes home over KSh 500,000 monthly from brand influencing.

She also runs a YouTube channel – Shoegame with Azziad, with 149,000 subscribers.

2. Gideon Musau (Mr Mbilimbili)

Musau joined TikTok in 2020 after creating content on YouTube for three years.

The statistics in computing degree graduate said he loves acting, and when the platform became popular, he decided to shift his content.

The 23-year-old commands a huge following of over 483,000 fans, and this he said earns him thousands of money monthly after he signed deals with various companies.

“In a month I make up to KSh 400,000 on average from all the sponsorship deals and campaigns that I take part in,” he told Daily Nation.

3. Ajib Gathoni

The 22-year-old university student joined TikTok in 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic that led to the closure of all learning institutions.

She was curious to know how the video-sharing platform worked.

“I joined TikTok in early March 2020 out of curiosity. Everybody was talking about it and I had the time, I wanted to kill boredom and pass time because there wasn’t much I was doing with no school,” she says.

She started by creating goofy dancing videos, and with time she gained thousands of followers, now at over 400,000.

Her first earning came from a campaign to highlight menstrual health.

That opened doors for her as she later bagged sponsorship deals with renowned brands like Bata. telecommunications giant Safaricom and home appliances company LG.

She earns between KSh 50,000 to KSh 100,000 monthly though she said the amount varies.

4. Alma Matheu

The English and Literature graduate joined TikTok in January 2019 to showcase her acting talent.

“Never in my wildest dream did I ever imagine I would make anything out of it. I just wanted to entertain people,” the 23-year-old said who was approached by artistes said.

In a single deal, she makes at least KSh 30,000. She boasts over 282,000 followers.

5. Cindy Kipsang

The 21-year-old joined TikTok in 2016 for fun when it was still named Musically.

At the time, she had 300 followers.

She took a break from it, but when it was officially launched in 2018 and with the hype around it, she came back and learnt about monetising.

She didn’t disclose how much she earns but stated there are good earnings on the app.

6. Njoki murira

Njoki Murira’s real name is Maureen Njoki Murira (born on 24 December 2000) is a Kenyan content creator, Tiktoker, and Youtuber from Kenya.

She lives in a village in Thika and comes from a family of five and she is the last born. She has three sisters and one brother.

Njoki Murira is able to garner over a million views; thanks to her big booty. The lady has since gone viral on TikTok with many noting that they loved her good looks and confidence.

Njoki Murira has been able to secure ambassadorial deals due to her massive following. She’s not your regular ‘kienyeji’ lady. She’s using what her mama gave her to make money.
