Needy girl pleads with Oscar Sudi to help her join university

A needy young girl identified as Lynn Chepkemoi has pleaded with Kapseret Constituency Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi to help her further her studies.

The lady who hailed from Kericho County completed her Kenya Certificate of Secondary Examination (KCSE) national examinations in 2022.

She scored a C plain from Kaplong Girls High School, where she studied since Form One.

She expressed her desire to pursue nursing, a course she spoke highly of and dreamed of daily, as she said.

However, the financial limitation was a significant challenge that weighed her down and pulled her back from progressing.

“I am stranded on what to do as there is no glimpse of hope for me to join the university as things stand. Back at home, we are struggling to make ends meet. My single mum is raising me and my five siblings, and she is trying her best, but the burden is too much.

She sells vegetables, and the income is not enough to cater for the various needs at home. I have a two-year-old sibling who has cerebral palsy and is on treatment. He used to go to the therapy but not anymore as there is no money. I also have other siblings in school, two in primary and one in secondary,” she said in an interview.

“I have talked to family members and neighbours, but each has their responsibilities. My dad, who left us over five years ago, is nowhere to help,” she cried.
