Autopsy reveals the cause of preacher Elizabeth Githigi’s death

The cause of death for Nakuru-based evangelist Elizabeth Githigi, who passed away in singer Dishon Mirugi’s Kahawa West residence, has been determined by an autopsy report.

The Kenyatta University Teaching and Referral Hospital performed an autopsy, which revealed that Elizabeth Githigi died as a result of a lack of oxygen brought on by pressure on her neck.

However, more toxicological tests are being conducted, thus it was unclear if the incident involved strangling.

The late Githigi’s sister, Esther Mugure, disclosed that she had expressed worries for her safety in December after receiving threats from Mirugi. Mugure continued by saying that her sister was repaying the musician a loan of Sh700,000 for the construction of his church.

“In December, my sister called me from Isinya to Nairobi, and she informed me that she was being threatened by Dishon Mirugi.

On Friday, when we last spoke, she told me she was now going to seek her money from Dishon, but she did not pick calls from then,” Mugure said.

Mugure claimed the performer warned her sister not to pursue her money and that he was untouchable.

After Mirugi was charged in court, the investigating police asked that he be held while they continued their inquiries.

They were ex-lovers, and the singer, who is now a person of interest in the preacher’s killing, claimed to have visited him on Saturday from Nakuru.

Mirugi claimed that when she got to his Kahawa West home, she offered to clean up as he hurried out to run an errand along Thika Road.

When the singer got home, she discovered that the woman had died and made the quick decision to carry her body to the hospital.
