Pastor Ezekiel, a well-known Kenyan evangelist, has encouraged his wife Sarah to leave him if he backslides.
The anointed man of God instructed his wife not to entertain him on October 2, 2022, during Sunday service at his Mavueni Church in Kilifi County in case he commits sin.
“Pastor Sarah ukisikia pastor Ezekiel amewachana na Yesu, usinifuate, fuata Yesu ufanikiwe duniani… Nilimwambia ukiona nimeachana na Yesu, hata hii ndoa ikikuchosha, achana nayo lakini maliza salama na Yesu kwa sababu, kabla sijakuoa, ulikuwa umeokoka. Heri umaliza na Yesu kuliko kumaliza na mume wako bila Yesu Kristo
(Sarah, if you hear Pastor Ezekiel has backslided, please don’t stick with me…leave me and continue serving the Lord. I knew you when you were saved, it’s better to live your life in Christ than with a man who doesn’t worship God),” he said.
The well-known preacher stressed to his audience the significance of knowing Jesus, declaring that he is the only one who will remain by their side through thick and thin.
“Ijapokuwa nina neema tofatufi, mke wangu ashikilie huyo Yesu. Nikipotea aachane na mimi. Mwanadamu ni wa kukuja na kuenda lakini Yesu ni yule yule jana leo na hata milele
(Even though Ilive by the grace of God, my wife should be string in the Lord. If I happen to backslide, she should leave and continue serving God. Human beings come into your life and go, but God is the same forever),” Ezekiel said.
He went on to compare people to flowers.
“Binadamu atakuambia I love you today, tomorrow the man changes. Binadamu ni kama maua, usiweke akili zako kwake, utapotea (A manwill tell you I love you today but tomorrow he will change…human beings are like flowers, don’t put your trust in them),” he said.
