“Sio jina mbaya!” – Gachagua finally accepts his nickname “Riggy G” given by Kenyans

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has finally adopted the creative nickname “Riggy G” as given by Kenyans on social media.

Speaking during the Kenya Music Festival in Kisumu, the second in command said it was not a bad name.

“Even am amazed that our creative young people have given me a nickname. They have looked at my two names – Rigathi Gachagua, looked for something sounding more easy, more melodious, and called me Riggy G…and I don’t thing it is a bad name…So, let our people grow. Let us develop the talents of our people,” he said.

During the event, the DP also asked MPs to reinstate money allocation meant to facilitate music festivals.

Gachagua said that this should be done immediately after the MPs begin their sitting.

“When you go to the national assembly please reinstate the money meant for the Music festival so that our young people can be mentored,” he said.

This was after the Education CS George Magoha and Chairman of the Kenya Music Festival Peter Wanjohi requested that the money should be released.

Music Festival resumed after two years following the outbreak of Covid-19.

He said it was clear that the abundance of talents and creativity of talents within the country was on another level.

He said that the William Ruto-led administration will spearhead a digital superhighway and creative economy to boost incomes.

He said their administration has very elaborate policies and programs to translate the creativity and talent of young people into a source of income and way of life.

“And from what have seen here I am persuaded that we have made the right decision and we have a job to do because the creativity and talent among our young people are extraordinary,” he said.

The DP assured the young people that the new administration has a good plan for them and very soon they will roll out a program of how to harness the talent and their creativity.
