Rayvanny wins big international award that no other East African musician has ever won

Rayvanny just earned a distinction that no other musician from East Africa has ever achieved, adding another another feather to his cap.

The Dubai Harbor Creek Marina hosted the Distinctive International Arab Festivals Award (DIAFA).

The Republic of Tanzania honored Rayvanny, a Tanzanian artist, last night for his accomplishments. He honored President Samia Suluhu when accepting the award on stage, saying,

“I want to dedicate this award to my President Samia Suluhu Hassan. She is the first female President in the history of our country,” the crowd cheered this delightful news.

“Naitoa Tuzo hii kwa Rais wangu Samia Suluhu Hassan, ni Rais wa kwanza Mwanamke kwenye Taifa letu.”

Chui also added how much the award meant to him.

“Thanks a lot everybody who came out tonight but also I just wanna say thanks to Diafa award this means a lot to me but also it means a lot for Africa.”

Rayvanny was also nominated for the 19th edition of Premios Juventud awards that took place in Spain in June. He was nominated in the OMG Collaboration category.

The Tetema singer expressed gratitude stating that he was pleased to earn such huge recognition internationally.

“First African artist to be nominated on @PremoisJuventud awards. #puertorico Category (OMG COLLABORATION) #Mamatetema MSANII WA KWANZA AFRICA KUA KWENYE TUZO ZA @premiosJuventud awards ZITAZOFANYIKA Puerto Rico, go vote now,” he wrote at the time.

Rayvanny was nominated for his hit song Mama Tetema featuring Colombian artist Juan Luis Londono, also known as Maluma.

In 2016, Rayvanny was also nominated for an MTV Africa Music Award in the category of Breakthrough Act 2016.

In 2017 he was also nominated for several music awards, such as AEUSA for Best New Talent, Uganda Entertainment Award for Best African Act, and BET Award for International Viewers’ Choice which he won.
