Kenyans Raise Sh4.3 million for Hellen Wendy’s family to repatriate her body from Canada

Online fundraising has brought in Sh4.3 million to help Hellen Wendy Nyabuto’s family after she drowned in Canada last week.

Her sister started the GoFundMe campaign in an effort to raise the Sh4.6 million needed to repatriate her sister’s remains and pay for burial costs.

At least 1,100 well-wishers gave money to the online fundraiser, with one of them giving the family Sh46,100.

Hellen, who was studying to become a nurse, passed away while swimming in Canada.

After obtaining a 10-year study VISA in 2019, the deceased moved to Canada and was enjoying himself when tragedy struck.

Wendy repeatedly dove into the water while her phone was recording, periodically returning to check the comments on the live video that her fans were watching on social media.

At 10 minutes and 33 seconds after she started recording herself, she took what would be her final plunge, and you can hear her gasping for breath, gurgling, kicking, and call for assistance.

She made her final sound shortly after, and the water stayed still throughout the duration of the film, which lasted three hours.

The late Kenyan nurse’s father, John Nyabuto, who lives in Canada, finally spoke up in response to allegations that she had foretold her own demise.

The rumors that his daughter foretold her death were denied by Mr. Nyabuto.
