Ruto fulfils promise, builds house for needy family in Kiambu (PHOTOS)

On Saturday, a family in Githiga, Kiambu County, received the house that Deputy President William Ruto had promised them.

Dr. Ruto was represented by Kiambu Woman Representative Gathoni Wamuchomba at the official opening of the house and stated that the family now had a nicer place to call home.

“Sometime last year, Deputy President William Ruto offered to build a house for a needy family in Gatitu, Githiga. I’m happy to announce that the three-roomed house is now complete. Now little Njeri and her four siblings have a decent home. On behalf of the family and Gatitu village, we are grateful,” Wamuchomba stated.

The mother and kids, who were overcome with emotion during the house opening, were made even happier when the family received 100 bags of corn from the vice president in addition to the house.

The deputy was apprehended in September 2021 after hearing a tale about a family without a home who could not afford to provide for themselves. Ruto gave the family Sh1 million and assigned the Kiambu county women representative to supervise the house’s construction.

“I will give you Sh1 million so that you can get a place where you can settle. Also make arrangements so that I can put up a business for you,” he said.

The deputy president’s generosity was most recently extended to Kiambaa family whose homes were destroyed by fire.

The DP gave Sh1 million to the devastated families on July 16 during a rally in Kiambaa’s Banana neighborhood to aid in the repair of their homes and the burial of the loved ones who had died.
