Ni wa Elgibitikiu? KOT Question Charlene Ruto’s relationship with Shirleen Wambui

President William Ruto’s daughter Charlene Ruto has been on a mission to represent her father across the country, approving, inspecting, and overseeing several development projects.

In her recent public events, Charlene was seen in the company of Sharleen Wambui, a Member of the County Assembly in Murang’a among other youth leaders.

Sharleen and Charlene, on several occasions, have referred to each other as namesakes due to the similarity in their names.

“Thank you so very much namesake Charlene Ruto. I have a strong feeling we are going to do mega things for the youth of Kenya together,” Wambui posted in December 2022.

Charlene posted a similar message to the youth leader. The duo met at a youth forum in Murang’a County.

Their bond seemingly grew stronger with Charlene gifting Wambui on valentine’s day and adding a handwritten card stating,” I love the woman that you are and the woman you are becoming.”

However, away from her relationship with the president’s daughter, Wambui is a devoted youth leader who is seen participating in charity work across the county.

She is a Member of the County Assembly (MCA) in Murang’a County nominated by the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) in 2022.

She holds a bachelor’s degree from Mt Kenya University in Business Information and Technology (BBIT).

While at the institution she served as the student association’s vice president as well as a member of the Universities and Colleges Students’ Peace Association of Kenya (UCSPAK).

During the presidential vote count at the Bomas of Kenya in August 2022, Wambui was an observer for the party and freely interacted with Ruto.

Additionally, during the campaign, she was at the forefront mobilising Kenyans to vote for UDA candidates.

Wambui is the Youth Senator of Murang’a county at the Youth Senate. She describes herself as a sober leader, mother, politician, and philanthropist.

Recently, President Ruto’s daughter, Charlene, decided to treat her to a special lunch date.

“Thank you sweetheart Charlene Ruto for the late valentine’s Lunch date and for the gifts..,” Sharleen Wambui wrote.

Her recent close interaction with Charlene has made KOT skeptical about their relationship with some questioning if the two are an item.
