Comedian YY Builds House For Humble Family in Kakamega

Comedian Oliver Otieno, also known as YY Comedian, has stepped in to help a dad who sold his house’s roof to pay for his son’s medical bills.

Willy Odhiambo was pushed to his limit in order to raise medical bills for his sickle cell anemia-affected son.

YY stated on his Instagram stories that he would be present for the construction and would only return to Nairobi once the project was completed.

YY remarked, “Am genuinely happy for Willie, narudi Nairobi ikiisha.”

Odhiambo, who is from Ingusi village in Mumias, Kakamega county, previously stated that he tried to raise the money through loans from friends but was unsuccessful since everyone he approached was unhelpful.

“He was sick and we took him to hospital, when he was discharged, I was told the bill is Ksh10,000 so I didn’t know what to do because I had sent her mother to go sell our maize farm to get money for the bill, “I tried to request who would loan me money to pay off the bill but after visiting all the homesteads I didn’t find anyone,” Odhiambo narrated.

This isn’t the first time the comedian has stepped up to help someone in need. YY came to the aid of a man who had been convicted of shoplifting at a grocery in mid-April.

Alvin Linus Chivondo was fined Sh100,000 for stealing Sh3,000 worth of products from the Naivas Supermarket. YY rallied Kenyans to give more than Sh100,000 for the man, whom he gave over after advising him to mend his habits.

“Build a good reputation, make connections but if you choose a different route we will be here for a different fundraising,” YY told Chivondo.
