Emotions runs high as Ruto hugs wife Rachel to celebrate his win (VIDEO)

Immediately following the Supreme Court of Kenya’s confirmation of William Ruto as the new President, a sentimental atmosphere quickly overtook the Deputy President’s Karen residence.

Following the proceedings of the Supreme Court judgement, Ruto, his wife Rachael, and a number of Kenya Kwanza Alliance leaders had pitched a tent at the property.

When the decision was made, they immediately broke into a worship song, with Rachel leading the group in praising God for the decision.

“We give you all the glory, we worship you alone, You are worthy to be praised,” they sang.

A portion of those in attendance fought back tears as the brief prayer session was interspersed with emotions, some of which seemed to be ones of incredulity.

Ruto gave his wife Rachel a warm hug after the hymn. As they started giving each other hugs, he turned to face the other team members and said, “Congratulations guys.”

Rachel also congratulated her husband after the Supreme Court ruling that upheld his presidential win.

“Congratulations Bill my love. God has done it. I am proud of you! May He give you the grace & wisdom to lead Kenya into greatness! You were born & destined for this!

Heb 10:23 Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm for God can be trusted to keep His promise,” she tweeted.

On his part William Ruto, shared a Biblical verse crediting his win to God.

“With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.” — Mark 10:27
