As they celebrate 50 years of marriage, former prime minister Raila Odinga has praised his wife, Mama Ida Odinga.
Being together for 50 years, in Raila’s opinion, has only been a source of enormous delight.
The head of the Azimio tribe referred to Mama Ida as the foundation and cornerstone of their family.
He went on to say that it is nothing short of “awesome” to commemorate the 50th anniversary and Ida’s 73rd birthday at the same time.
“Being married to you for five decades has brought me great joy, and celebrating this milestone with your birthday was awesome. Mama Ida Odinga, please accept my heartfelt gratitude for being not only the love of my life but also the bedrock and pillar of our family,” Raila said.
The event held at the Villa Rosa Kempinski also doubled up as Mama Ida Odinga’s 73rd birthday.
The event saw family members, leaders, friends of the Odingas and Kenyans from all walks attend the event.
Raila and Ida have been blessed with four children; Fidel Castro Odinga (deceased), Rosemary Odinga, Raila Odinga Jnr, and Winnie Odinga.
