President Kenyatta: Bill Gates makes billions despite dropping out of college

President Uhuru Kenyatta has advised teachers to encourage students to pursue their passions rather than focusing primarily on white-collar employment.

President Uhuru advised teachers to expose their kids to alternative means of earning a living other than office occupations while speaking to school heads in Mombasa.

He asked the teachers to begin exposing their students to informal jobs, which he claims pay far more than formal jobs.

“Let’s stop telling our children that the only available jobs are the white-collar job. Today as we speak, some farmers earn way better than teachers, professors and doctors,” the Head of State said.

The president also advised teachers to nurture their kids’ passions and abilities. President Uhuru used Microsoft CEO Bill Gates as an example, saying that if a student’s desire is genuine, he or she can become one of the world’s most successful persons.

Despite being a college dropout, Gates’ enthusiasm for software, according to the president, has made him one of the world’s wealthiest individuals.

“You teachers have the responsibility to be the ones to pull that gift out of that child to be proud of himself for the service he delivers to the country,” he said.

“Billionaires like Bill Gates and the rest dropped out in high school and the money they have today is more than what Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi have combined.”.
