“Do you want me to order these people to open the gate?” – Raila to DCI officers

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) office on Kiambu Road is now questioning Fred Matiang’i, a disgraced former influential Interior Cabinet secretary.

Raila Odinga, the head of the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party, was reportedly denied admission to the Mazingira House according to a video tape seen by Mkenyaleo.co.ke.

“They have denied Baba @RailaOdinga access to the DCI Headquarters. It will be messy. Haiyah!” Movement for Defense of Democracy (MDD) captioned the video clip shared on Twitter.

“The last instructions, I am told that you are not allowed in. None of you will be allowed in,” the officer told the group to Raila’s shock.

In a quick rejoinder, Raila fired back threatening to mobilise his legion of supporters that had accompanied him to storm the office:

“This is a public office. Do you want me o order these people to open the gate? This is a public officer and I cannot be denied to see the director.”

But the officer who appeared to stand his ground maintained that he had firm instructions not to allow the group inside amid protests from Raila.

“This is a public office and I have a right to go inside. Which kind of law is this? If you want problems you will get it from me,” Raila said before he was whisked away by those accompanying him.

The DCI summoned the former powerful CS regarding the alleged police raid at his Karen residence.

However, it has emerged that the DCI detectives are grilling the former Interior CS beyond the alleged police raid as initially indicated in the summons.
