Police unleashes new chilling details about Mirema shooting victim

Samuel Mugo Mogota, who was shot in broad daylight near his Mirema Springs flat, may have been the victim of retaliation, according to police.

Authorities accused Mugo of being a member of a criminal group operating in the city, and he was under investigation.

The group is accused of giving narcotics to club patrons in Nairobi before robbing them of valuables.

“It is difficult to comprehend how heartless human beings can become, whether it is vengeance or any other reason, it is impossible to comprehend, because nothing was stolen from the victim,” Kasarani OCPD, Peter Mwanzo told the media.

Several ID cards were discovered in six different wallets, according to the officers who investigated the crime scene.

The automobile also had phones and laptop computers that were suspected of being stolen.

The police are also investigating a drugging case after a woman whose identity card was discovered in the victim’s vehicle said she lost Ksh200,000 after getting inebriated in a bar.

Mugo was supposed to be known as Kupe among the city’s criminal gangs.

“The man headed a big syndicate that mostly involved women who were used to spike revellers; drinks before stealing from the customers,” an investigation officer said.

Mugo’s assailant opened fire on the Honda CRV he was driving, leaving him in a pool of blood, according to surveillance footage.

When a white Toyota vehicle parked across the driveway, impeding him, he had just dropped off a woman with a baby at Mirema Springs flats.

The street was clear, and just one lady could be seen on film walking near the crime site, unaware of what would happen in the seconds that followed.

The gunman approached the Honda CRV from the opposite direction, drawing his weapon and firing several bullets after gaining a clear line of sight, according to CCTV evidence.

Despite being shot, the deceased attempted to flee, as evidenced by the jerky motions of the vehicle.

The attacker’s identity is yet to be identified.
