“My life is in danger” – Moses Kuria claims Uhuru plans to harm him with other MPs

Moses Kuria, a contender for governor of Kiambu, declared on Saturday, July 30, that his life was under danger.

Kuria claimed that the threats were started by President Uhuru Kenyatta in an open letter to the inspector general of police (IG) Hillary Mutyambai.

He further charged Uhuru with plotting to thwart his political aspirations, alleging that IG Mutyambai was being employed to aid his rivals in the Kiambu governor’s contest.

“Dear IG Mutyambai, while your boss Uhuru is busy threatening my life, you are providing police in three land rovers under the command of an OCS to my competitor UDA’s Kimani Wamatangi in all his meetings.

“Not even the governor is getting this level of security. Treat us equally and more so those whose lives are in danger,” he claimed.

His remarks come just a day after Ndindi Nyoro, a Kiharu Member of Parliament, said that a State House insider had leaked information about a meeting the president had called to plot ways to annoy him, Moses Kuria, and Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichungwa.

The meeting where the strategy to target Ruto’s close allies was apparently discussed in State House Nakuru, according to Nyoro.

“I want to tell the President that we have been informed that you are planning to harm Deputy President William Ruto. The president is planning to target Moses Kuria, Ndindi Nyoro and Kimani Ichung’wa,” the vocal MP protested.

Similar claims were made by DP Ruto on Friday, July 29, during a campaign rally in Nandi. He said the President was targeting his children after their argument got out of hand.

He advised Uhuru to support Raila Odinga, his favorite candidate, and get ready to retire peacefully.

“I want to ask the President not to be the source of threats in Kenya. Stop threatening us. Your work is to ensure that all Kenyans are safe. Stop telling us that we will know that you are President. We are not people who can be threatened. We are the ones who elected you,” the DP stated.
