Pole sana! Kenyan gospel singer dies after battle with Cancer

Kenyan gospel singer Roseline Akinyi alias Roseline Damian has died at 39 years of age.

Roseline was treated at the Texas Cancer Centre in Nairobi, where she had been sent for specialized care, when she passed away on Wednesday at 4 p.m., according to Roseline’s mother Margaret Achieng, who confirmed the news to Citizen Digital.

Roseline is known for Luo and Swahili hit songs such as ‘Ruoth in’gama nade,’ ‘Simba Muomo,’ ‘Wuon Osimbo,’ ‘Nipende Yesu,’ ‘Tukuza Bwana’ amongst others.

On Sunday, January 15 this year, she made her first appearance on Ramogi TV’S ‘Injili Kalo’ show ahead of her latest song ‘Ruoth in’gama nade’ video release.

She has left behind a husband and a five-year-old son.

Christine Otieno, Sarah Brenda, Producer Deno Ngwasi are among fellow Gospel singers and sound engineers who have described her death as a blow to the ministry.
