Martha Karua’s ‘son’ George Maringa joins TV47

George Maringa, a former KTN presenter, has joined TV47.

Mr. Maringa declared on his official Facebook page that he had begun a new career path.

“Tonight, a new journey begins. Join me on TV47 Kenya. The home of untold stories,” he posted.

Mr. Maringa announced his resignation from KTN, where he had worked for five years and eleven months, a month ago.

Maringa said goodbye to his previous workplace in a statement and expressed excitement for his future.

“5 years, 11 months. Thank you for walking the journey with me. On to the next assignment,” he said.

Maringa is the son of Karua’s sister but the celebrated politician has repeatedly referred to him as her son.

In his career, Mr Maringa has also covered international assignments despite starting his career as a correspondent based in Meru County.

One of his major assignments at KTN was covering East Africa Community Regional Force in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

Mr Maringa’s journey in mainstream media began when he joined the Standard Group PLC as an intern in 2017.

During this time, his passion for storytelling and advocating for the less fortunate in society started to take shape.

In his early years, he served as the network’s first-ever reporter based in Meru County, where he covered stories from various counties, including Embu, Tharaka Nithi, Meru, Isiolo, Lamu, and Marsabit.
