CS Florence Bore given hours to vacate Karen mansion owned by Gatanga MP

Gatanga Member of Parliament (MP) Edward Muriu has issued three demands to Labour Cabinet Secretary (CS) Florence Bore over a contested mansion in Karen valued, by the owner, at Ksh120 million.

Speaking to the media, the congressman demanded that the CS reveal the agreement while yet insisting that the parties had not yet reached one.

As a result, the MP demanded that she provide documentary evidence that she paid for the house and received a receipt.

“If she (Bore) claims that she bought the house, she should show a sales agreement signed by everyone,” Muriu insisted.

“She should also show that she paid for everything before occupying the house,” he insisted.

Failure to meet the demands, Bore was asked to vacate the house by Tuesday, June 20.

The MP spoke hours after the CS accused the legislator of short-changing her and forcefully evicting her family from the premises.

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) elected MP maintained that Bore broke into the house despite her assertions that she had been given the go-ahead.

“I have keys to the main door, kitchen and balcony. How did she gain access?” he questioned.

Bore in her statement stated that she had paid 10 per cent of the agreed price and given permission to clear the rest in 90 days.

“I entered into an agreement to purchase the property at a negotiated and agreed upon purchase price.

“I sourced a 10 per cent deposit which was a term in the agreement for sale and the completion period of the transaction was 90 days from the date of signing the agreement,” she explained.

Muriu, in a rejoinder, claimed that he did not receive any payment and no sale agreement was signed between the two.

He further announced that he had reached out to President William Ruto and his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua to mediate on the matter.

The MP also accused the Labour CS of using security officers to intimidate him.
