Member of parliament has passed away after being hit by a boda boda rider in Narobi.

According to reports, Kullow Maalim Hassan, a legislator from Banisa died on Tuesday while receiving care at a city hospital was confirmed by his family.

Kullow passed away in Nairobi’s South C neighborhood following injuries sustained in a motorcycle hit-and-run.

Many of his colleagues praised him as a diligent and hardworking lawmaker.

Eldas MP Adan Keynan, who remembered Kullow as a devoted public servant who discharged his duties with honour.

“It is with great sorrow and profound sadness that I learn of the unfortunate demise of my friend and colleague, Banisa MP, Hon. Kullow Maalim Hassan, who passed away at Agha Khan Hospital.

“I share my deepest condolences with the family, friends and people of Banisa following this unfortunate loss and pray that Allah (SWT) will grant them sabr and comfort during this lowest moment. May Allah grant his soul Jannatul Firdaws. Amiin Amiin,” he said in a tribute.

Keynan said Kullow was a great leader who will be remembered for his transformative leadership.

Banisa is in Mandera County and he was elected on UDM ticket.

Kullow was first elected into parliament in 2017, and was serving his second term as a legislator.
