Grace Ekirapa : NTV fired me when I was on maternity leave

The stunning celebrity, who gave birth to her daughter AJ in April 2022, has been bombarded with fan inquiries about her return to television.

Grace, who is married to actor Pascal Tokodi, revealed during a live broadcast on her Instagram page that she received a call from her then-employer requesting her to come for a letter.

“I finished my assignment, that’s it. After I went on maternity, After I gave birth I received a call and I was told there is a letter for you and I remember that time I panicked. We had an agreement before I went for maternity and I knew the agreement was this and that and so I was content. I knew there was this possibility and then I get a call. So I told them to scan the letter and send me,” she said.

She further disclosed that despite her getting the letter on the same day, it was the longest day she’s ever had because she did not know what to expect.

“Before I went for my maternity, sometime in January, I started telling my husband I don’t feel the strength I used to have. I don’t have the enthusiasm that I had before. I used to be very excited on Sunday mornings And I would leave the house and go to the office by 9am,” she added.

But she started to lose momentum and thought it was because she was pregnant or tired but she felt something had changed.

“Then they sent the letter by email and I just read it and I was like oh my God, I see what you’ve done. I was so confused literally because I was like I’m I supposed to be happy or sad. I know that there’s nothing God has ever done or allowed in my life that has been for nothing, but here I was wondering how to process this because I’ve known this life for six good years but now here it is, I’m not going to do it anymore. I’m on maternity and in my head, I knew when I finish I’m going back to work,” she said.

Now she’s waiting for other doors to open but also acknowledged that so much has happened since she left the station that made her wonder if she should have made the move a long time ago.
