Bahati insists he will be on the ballot for Mathare MP seat

Aspirant for the Mathare Jubilee, Kevin Kioko, also known as Bahati, has denied reports that he has resigned.

The musician alleged that some Azimio La Umoja members have been spreading false information about his candidacy among his supporters, confusing them.

“Dear Azimio… stop misleading the voters of Mathare. Bahati – MP Mathare has not stepped down for anyone,” Bahati said.

At 2pm, he promised, he would address the media regarding the situation.

Following reports that Azimio had selected Anthony Oluoch as its favored candidate during a combined meeting of ODM and Jubilee delegates, Bahati made his comments.

As members of Azimio, Jubilee and ODM have made boardroom agreements to support a single candidate against their Kenya Kwanza rivals in various regions.

Tim Wanyonyi (ODM), a Westlands MP, gave the example of putting off his desire to back Polycarp Igathe (Jubilee) in the election for Nairobi governor.
