There was drama during the opening prayers at Ruto’s Women Charter Conference on Friday at Nyayo Stadium in Nairobi, after a preacher mispronounced Kenya Kwanza as ‘Kenya Kwaisha’.
During the prayer, the pastor said “we want to come into an agreement with the Kenya Kwisha,” making Ruto and Gachagua uncomfortable.
Following the slip of the phrase, Pastor Wairimu quickly rectified herself and went on to bless DP William Ruto and his running companion Rigathi Gachagua, who had attended the occasion.
Jane Wairimu is a pastor from the Africa Inland Church (AIC) Maragu.
The term ‘Kenya Kwisha’ is normally used by the Azimio team while counter-attacking Ruto.
In his address to the Kenya Kwanza Women’s League, Ruto said he enjoys the support of more women voters and he promised to support their ambitions.
