Lilian Ng’ang’a praises Juliani, says he is the best husband and father

The couple Julius Owino nicknamed Juliani and Lilian Ng’ang’a recently welcomed their first child.

The pair, who have gone through a roller coaster of emotions over the past few years, will undoubtedly feel excitement after the birth of the child.

First-time mother Ms. Ng’ang’a spoke candidly about parenthood in an interview with Citizen Digital.

“Utheri means light and I want my baby to be the light of the world. I have a very calm, bright eyed handsome boy and now that he is two months he loves to smile, I can’t wait for the morning for him to wake up, he already knows who I am so he always snuggling next to me,” she said.

Ms. Nganga, on the other hand, said she cannot get enough of the experience and, at two months, she is still in wonder of each new day she spends with the baby. Pregnancy comes with its own special experiences and set of problems.

“I used to be scared of pregnancy, but when I found out I was pregnant it was smooth and easy, I never had morning sickness, just a slight short of breath, I remained active until the very end.

Those horror stories you here didn’t happen to me, when I got the baby the doctors told me ‘zoea hiyo’, they cry for 3 months but I have a very calm baby, as long as he is fed, clean, he is happy and okay,” Lilian disclosed.

Even though the couple made an effort to keep their pregnancy a secret, news of it nevertheless spread online and got Kenyans talking.

In yet another endearing anecdote, Ms. Ng’ang’a gushed about how happy her marriage to Juliani is and how much she loves being a wife and a mother.

“My marriage is easy and beautiful, I sometimes don’t even feel like I am married, I do not have the pressure to conform. Juliani is very independent, he is living his life and I am living mine but we are together. He is a brilliant person and wants the best for me, he brings out the best in me,” she said.

“Juliani is a fantastic father, the best. it’s very nice to watch him with the baby, they have their own language and routine, and he helps a lot with the baby. I could not ask for more.”

There has been an obsession about the couple’s world, so how does she deal with the intense glare and scrutiny?

“I still don’t get how this simple girl from Githunguri became so interesting that everything I say people have to pick it up and construe it into a different thing all together. When I see people making comments that are not pleasant, I wonder why they are bothered by my own decision,” she said.

“This has been going on since I came into the limelight, but I am not too bothered because these are faceless people behind the keyboard. Anybody attacking my child, that might have an effect on me,” she added.

The former First Lady of Machakos County has written a book titled ‘Madam First Lady’, which she says provides her with the voice and the space to speak out.

“The book is about my time as the first lady, the book outlines my work experience and lessons learnt. For a long time, I felt people wanted to contain me in a box of a companion who did not do anything for the county, just atrophy partner and I did so much. If you don’t tell you story nobody is going to do it for you, at least now I have a voice,” Ms Ng’ang’a notes.
