Jalango says he won’t mind working on Radio as long as he gets to parliament before 9am

Felix Odiwuor, the newly elected Lang’ata MP, has said that given the nature of his new position, he will no longer host club events.

The man known as “Jalas” frequently staged performances at a variety of nightclubs, but he has stated that he recognizes the responsibilities that come with being a lawmaker and that he will devote his time to it.

The media star, however, stated he will continue produce advertising and will empower young people in concept development and cinema while responding to a number of queries from his followers.

“Will you still be hosting club events and club appearances? NO! My new job comes with a lot of responsibilities and time for clubs might not be there anymore.

“Will you still be doing advertisements? Hell yeah!! A lot of them! We will actually be now working with the young people of Langata in concept development and filming! I want to train as many young people as possible in our resource centers,” he wrote.

The former Kiss FM host responded that he still likes radio and would contemplate a morning show that ends by 9am when questioned about radio and whether he would balance that with his legislative responsibilities.

“Radio is my love and if I get a morning show that ends by 9 so that I can make it for bunge on time then why not? I know many Mps who still do their jobs and deliver for their constituency.”

He continued by saying that he planned to use his connections to aid the residents of Lang’ata and that he would only cooperate with companies who supported local initiatives in his area.

Jalas expressed his gratitude to all of his supporters over the weekend, but he also acknowledged that, as a rookie legislator, he still had a lot to learn.

Prior to the Elected Leaders Inaugural Conference at KICC, Azimio La Umoja commended Nixon Korir for his political maturity and promised to consult widely to guarantee Lang’ata is transformed.

“I want to thank the people of Lang’ata who overwhelmingly voted me in. I also want to thank the incumbent Nixon Korir who conceded and was present as I was being given the certificate.

“He (Nixon) said we will work together and support each other. This win is not about me but the people of Lang’ata. As a first-timer I have a lot to learn,” he remarked.

While acknowledging the difficult task ahead of him, Jalas promised to unite the Lang’ata citizens who displayed restraint and harmony during the election.

“There is a lot to do but we shall work as a community. All the five wards. The people of Lang’ata are very peaceful. They love each other and they love peace.

“When Nixon saw it was not going his way he showed maturity in politics. We need peace and development,” he added.
