IEBC commissioner Justus Nyang’anya reveals how he sneaked out of Drama Fest to get married

In order to get married, Justus Nyang’anya and his wife Apondi talked about how they ran from a school trip.

The couple, who traditionally celebrated their wedding anniversary on May 17, said in a previous interview with Ebru TV that they had chaperoned kids from Nyabondo High School, where they were teaching, on the special day.

The day of their wedding fell on the day the students were scheduled to perform because both of them were preparing drama students for the 1985 annual Drama Festivals.

ā€œWe timed a school trip and we knew the trip was coming up in two weeks and it would give us free transport because we would jump on the bus to take the students to Kisumu for drama festivals.

ā€œWe were the ones teaching the students and getting them ready and so we went to Kisumu 2 weeks earlier and booked an appointment at the Attorney Generalā€™s office,ā€ the couple explained.

ā€œActually we told nobody that we were going to do a wedding,ā€ Apondi noted

At the time, the cost of both rings was Sh5.

One of the witnesses volunteered to finance a celebratory reception with sodas and mandazi before they could return to their students.

The pair is parents to Kitt Kiarie, a YouTube video maker, and they periodically appear on the platform to share advice on how to handle delicate marital and life issues.
