Boda Boda Rider Builds a Beautiful House in His Rural Home, After Saving 1K Daily

Joseph Munyoki has impressed Kenyans online after sharing photos of his beautiful house in a Facebook group.

The boda boda rider received heaps of praises for being a diligent man.

According to Joseph he started saving KSh 1,000 daily from 2019 with an aim of building the house.

“I started saving KSh 1,000 daily from 2019 and finally got enough money to build the house,” he said.

According to Munyoki, he started the construction in September 2021, and the house is ready for occupation.

However, he admitted that building it was not a walk in the park as he faced water scarcity.

“I come from the Ukambani region and finding water to build the house was not easy. I had to transport it from over 30 kilometres away to the construction site.”

Munyoki disclosed that the house cost him around KSh 470,000 to build while advising those looking at building houses to plan.

“It is possible. You have to get the rough estimates and quotation for the house you plan on building and plan.

Give yourself timelines to meet in the construction process.”
On his boda boda business, Munyoki admitted that his earnings have dropped, courtesy of an influx of people.

“During the pandemic, many people lost their jobs, and many ventured into the online boda boda business. They flooded the market. I used to get around ten clients daily, but the number has reduced to five or even three on a bad day.”

Munyoki disclosed that he makes KSh 3,000 before expenses on a good day.

Here are some of the reactions:

“Wow! Great job. A million steps begin with one,” one netizen wrote.

“Great job. Life is how you plan it,” another added.
