“Mimi Ni Yatima” – Bahati Cries Out Over Frustrations By Rachel Shebesh

Musician Kelvin Bahati has called out former Nairobi women representative Rachel Shebesh for frustrating his ambitions to be the next Mathare MP.

On Monday, June 27, Shebesh requested that Bahati, who is running for the position on behalf of the Jubilee Party, resign so that Anthony Oluoch, an ODM candidate, might take his place.

Shebesh, who is currently the Ministry of Public Service’s Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS), instructed the performer to mimic Tim Wanyonyi’s movements.

After receiving support from the Raila Odinga-led Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition, Wanyonyi abandoned his run for mayor of Nairobi in favor of Polycarp Igathe.

“Kiambu needs a turnaround and it can’t be done with the same leaders who have been there. It needs one with leadership skills, management excellence and experience in operational excellence,” she said.

On the part of Bahati, Shebesh was being unkind and stumbling block to his dreams.

“Hauna hata roho ya utu. Mimi ni mtoto mdogo, hata sijafikisha miake 30. Unataka kila siku unanifinya nalia unanifinya nalia, mimi nakuwachia mungu. Na mimi najua yule mungu naishi na yeye maana mimi ni yatima, huyo mungu halali,” Bahati stated.

Bahati has maintained that he will still be on the ballot.
